The proud son of educators, and of the Central Valley, Carter Beardsley is proud to serve as this year’s President. Outside of KCYD, Carter works as the Regional Organizer for the California Democrats, and serves on the Housing Authority of the County of Kern’s Board of Commissioners, and non-profit boards.
Fatima Moreno, proudly serves as this year’s Vice President. She is passionate about civic engagement, women’s rights, and fostering positive change in her community. Outside of her political work, Fatima has a deep appreciation for the arts and believes creativity and advocacy go hand in hand in building a more inclusive and equitable future.
The son of immigrants, and a campus leader at UC Berkeley, Omar has long been passionate about Democrat politics. Outside of KCYD, he is an ASUC Senator, the Secretary of the CDA Disability Caucus, and a former Chief Operations Officer.
Manuel Ramirez is the grandson of farmworkers and proud that his grandfather immigrated to the U.S., Manuel serves as this years treasurer. Outside of KCYDL Manuel works in education inspiring and helping grow the next group of leaders. In his spare time he enjoys music, lowriders and advocating for community.
Born and raised in Bakersfield, Mason is proud to assist the org with skills acquired and related to his professional and academic background in agriculture and economics.
Savannah James proudly serves as the Organizing and Outreach Director. She is also a Member Representative for the Working Families Party and currently works as a Field Organizer for Randy Villegas for Congress. Savannah is passionate about expanding youth engagement in local politics and helping rebuild a people-centered electoral movement throughout the Central Valley.
Gabriel Benavides has served as the Director of Communications for the Kern County Young Democrats since his first term in March 2025, bringing a background in political science and philosophy along with hands-on experience as the founder of GJB Media. As a first-generation college graduate and third-generation immigrant, he believes in public service that starts locally but is grounded in a broader commitment to working for people everywhere.
